Concept built, launched, and validated in about 6 weeks

As Head of Product & Innovation at Party Jollof, I led product, engineering, design, innovation, and product growth execution. One of the products developed during that period began as Party Jollof Moments and ultimately evolved into the standalone product now known as DropLivo.

The Mandate

I joined Party Jollof with a product that had remained stalled for approximately nine months. My first priority was execution.

I reorganized the product workflow and led the engineering, product, and design teams through delivery. The existing Party Jollof Events product was stabilized and delivered within approximately two to three months.

From Party Jollof Events to Moments

After stabilizing the core events product, we explored another opportunity: digital experiences around the emotional and social moments surrounding events and relationships. That led to Party Jollof Moments.

I led the product from concept through product strategy, build, launch, and validation. The initial product was built and launched in approximately six weeks.

Product Validation

Party Jollof Moments generated strong early validation. Rather than keeping it as a feature or adjacent Party Jollof experience, we identified an opportunity for the concept to become a standalone product.

I participated in developing the initial strategy for separating the product before leaving the organization. Party Jollof Moments subsequently evolved into DropLivo.

Current Product Lineage

The current DropLivo product allows users to create expressive digital messages and experiences using combinations of text, photos, voice, video, music, and interactive presentation. The product is currently mobile first.

This case study distinguishes what I led from what the product became after my departure. I do not claim features or strategy implemented after I left the organization.

AI Product Innovation

During the product development work, AI capabilities formed part of the innovation strategy, including AI text generation, AI image generation, AI video generation, and AI assisted translation.

The goal was to reduce the creative effort required to construct personalized digital experiences.

Impact

Existing stalled product: approximately 9 months stalled before intervention.

Stabilized and delivered: approximately 2 to 3 months.

Party Jollof Moments: approximately 6 weeks from build to launch.
